Everyday Absurdity
Last semester I lent my copy of Betty Frieden's The Feminine Mystique to one of my babysitters. I hadn't looked at in years, and thought I probably wouldn't have time look at it again for a few more. Things worked out such that I didn't see her again before she graduated from Ithaca College and went back to NJ in December. And wouldn't you know, the first book on the syllabus for a course I'm taking called Feminism, Post-Feminism, and Cyberfeminism is TFM. Oy!
Sadder news: Unfortunately, I won't see those of you who are going to AWP this year. A couple things have come up and I need to be in Ithaca next week. :-( Maybe next year. The silver lining is that I've never been to Chicago, so if I had to miss one or the other I'd rather it be New York.
